Ormesby Village Junior School

A school council is an ideal opportunity for pupils to get involved in the way a school is run. It benefits the whole school, providing opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings to school staff as well as influence decisions that are made. Through the school council, pupils will develop skills such as being confident, communication and negotiation.

Our school council is made up of two representatives, voted in by other pupils. from each class. Each class also has a deputy, who attends school council in the representative's absence.

Members of the school council represent their own views and the views of all the pupils in the school. In class, pupils meet so that class representatives can collect their views, ideas and suggestions to take to the next school council meeting.
