SPORTS DAY 2018

The sun shone for the annual OVJS Sports Day. Thirty one races.  Four teams.  One trophy.  Over the course of the afternoon children competed in all manner of events, demonstrating excellent sportmanship and athletic ability throughout.
After all the scores were totalled up, it was green ribbons on the cup and Filby were pronounced this year's winners.
Well done to all who competed and thank you to all the parents who came to cheer the children on.

FLEGG YRS. 5/6 HI FIVE NETBALL TOURNAMENT

Our Yrs. 5/6 netball team played together for the first time on Tuesday, in Flegg High School’s netball tournament. They won 3 games and drew one, which resulted in them achieving first place.

What an achievement! – a fantastic result. Well done to Aaron, Jesse, Keira, Oscar, Poppy, Sangeethaa and Rosie.

SPORTS DAY - 2016

 On an afternoon of glorious sunshine -  parents, staff and pupils took to the sports field to enjoy an afternoon of excellent sporting competition. 

Divided into their school houses all pupils took part in a number of events which tested all manner of athletic skills and disciplines.  After two hours of fantastic competition  it was Hickling who clinched the trophy.

Every single pupil should be extremely proud of their efforts and their sporting attitude and let's just hope the weather is as good next year!

Monday Night Football Club 

With the light fading rapidly, Monday 16th of November will see the last session of Mr Morgan's hugely popular after school football club. I'm sure all the children and staff would like to thank Mr Morgan for giving up his time to pass on his football expertise to the next generation of super stars!

North Norfolk Schools Cross Country Competition

Children from across the school visited Bure Park in Yarmouth this week to compete in the first round of the annual cross country competition. In some challenging weather conditions all children gave their all and should be incredibly proud of their performances both individually and as part of the Ormesby Village Junior School Cross Country Team. 

 

YRS. 5/6 Hi FIVE NETBALL

Congratulations to: Damon, Daniel, Kieran, Libbie, Lucie, Poppy and Tess - our Yrs. 5/6 Hi 5 Netball team who won the league this year.  They played consistently throughout the season winning all of their games. Brilliant! Many thanks to Mrs Noble and Mrs Forder for coaching the team and to parents for all their support and help with transport to the away games. 

 

Years 5/6 Netball League

After our Sports Day, in the boiling heat, on Wednesday, Yrs. 5/6 played away against Homefield Primary School and won 8 - 7.  They made a fantastic comeback in the final quarter, which resulted in a nail biting finish.  Well done to Daniel, Kieran, Libbie, Lucie, Poppy, Tess and Vassar.

 GREAT YARMOUTH SCHOOLS SWIMMING GALA - MAY 15TH 2015

Well done to all the swimmers who represented the school in today's gala.  We got 15 medals for first place and then 8 second place and 1 third place.  Overall they came first!  They all showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the morning.

 

 FLEGG CLUSTER YRS. 3/4 NETBALL TOURNAMENT

 

Even though this was their first outdoor tournament, our Years 3/4 netball team played to their strengths against some strong teams and came a well deserved 4th.  Well done to all our team.

Well done to all the children who were chosen to represent the school in this tournament on Tuesday 17th March.  Team 'A' were:  Kieran, Jacob, Lucie, Tiegan, Ella Rose and Tess and team 'B' were:  Oliver, Damon, Bethany, Katie, Izzie Wilson and Daniel.

Both teams played extremely well, with Team ‘A’ finishing in 2nd place and Team ‘B’ in 5th.  As usual, they showed fantastic sportsmanship and their behaviour was exemplary.  Well done to everyone involved.                  

 EAST NORFOLK JUNIOR CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

 On Tuesday afternoon, 10th February 2015, children from across East Norfolk visited Bure Park in Great Yarmouth for this cross country event.  Competing in four races, all Ormesby Cross Country Team demonstrated fantastic stamina and determination which resulted in an incredible twelve children qualifying for the next round of the competition.  Well done to all the runners.

 EAST NORFOLK SWIMMING GALA

 On Friday 6th February, a large team of swimmers headed to the Phoenix swimming pool for a gala in which they were up against no fewer than twelve other schools. 

After a wealth of tremendous individual and team performances Ormesby finished in an impressive third place.  Every swimmer should be incredibly proud.

 

YRS. 3/4 Hi5 NETBALL TOURNAMENT

 A huge well done goes out to Annabelle, Cerys, Luca, Luke, Megan, Oscar and Poppy who represented the school by playing in their first ever Hi5 netball tournament at Flegg. High on Wednesday 4th February, which resulted in them finishing a fantastic 2nd place.  A brilliant effort by everyone.
